The GOZOOR Foundation Promotes Cultural Cooperation Between Egypt and Spain Through the "Caravan" Project.
With the support of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation, GOZOOR Foundation, represented by Mr Mohamed Nassar, organised a month-long trip to Madrid, Spain, in April 2025 to promote cultural and artistic cooperation within the "Caravan" project. The trip included formal and informal meetings with several Spanish partners and cultural institutions.
Among the most prominent meetings was one with Mr Karim Hauser, Director of the Casa Árabe in Madrid, where avenues for cooperation were discussed. The Foundation also met with its Spanish partner, Mr Javier Morales, and Ms Paula, Director of City Hall in Seville, who welcomed the collaboration.
Meetings were also held with the heads of several civil society organisations at a youth camp in Lucena, where many expressed their willingness to participate in the "Caravan" project.
The Foundation also visited and explored various artistic and cultural venues in Madrid to host events, including Matadero Madrid, La Casa en Cendida, and the Casa Árabe in Madrid, as well as other locations. As part of the project's promotion, Mr Mohamed Nassar, the foundation's representative, was hosted on the Spanish public radio station RTVE to discuss the "Caravan" project.
The trip also included meetings with several artists and intellectuals, including the Iraqi-Spanish visual artist Dr Hanoush, translation expert Dr Fares Abdeen, writer and journalist Dr Talaat Shaheen, Egyptian-Spanish poet Dr Ahmed El-Yamani, Spanish director and screenwriter Pepe Carballo, and guitarist Sergio.
These efforts are part of the Roots Foundation's commitment to strengthening cultural and artistic exchange between Egypt and Spain and expanding the "Caravan" project to include more international partnerships and events.
